Nature Inspired Surfaces for Environmentally Friendly Anti-Biofouling.
Doctoral thesis, Durham University.
This thesis explores the use of low-cost and scalable plasmachemical treatment and deposition techniques to prepare bioinspired antibiofouling surfaces. These surfaces have been characterised and assessed for anti-biofouling properties using real-world natural water. The aim is to find novel, effective, and environmentally safe anti-biofouling solutions that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated in maritime sectors and phase out ecologically damaging anti-biofouling coatings.
